Quick tips
JAL from DEL = best economy
17,500 miles one-way on direct flights (JL740 to Narita, JL030 to Haneda). Both are ~8h10m.
ANA Business sweet spot
30,000 miles DEL→HND books Air India metal via Star Alliance award. ANA's own business class costs 47,500.
BLR economy on JAL is oddly expensive
44,000 miles vs 17,500 from DEL for the same cabin. ANA from BLR (19,000) is a much better deal.
United = lowest out-of-pocket
Only ~₹2k taxes in taxes from any Indian city. Flat pricing on ANA metal (NH838).
Virgin Atlantic can book JAL too
Lower taxes than booking direct, but award availability is tough — especially for multiple passengers.
Marriott 3:1 for ANA miles
Transfer in multiples of 60K Marriott for a 5K mile bonus. 60K Marriott = 25K ANA miles.
